Day 1 || Konitsa

The first day finds us in the beautiful town of Konitsa, set in the unique landscape of the Pindus mountains, beneath their highest peak, Gamila, beside the gorge of the Aoos river with its impressive stone bridge, and the majestic plain of Konitsa. After settling into your rooms in the afternoon, we will have a stroll through the small town and enjoy a coffee in one of its stunningly-located cafés. In the evening we will eat in a traditional taverna. We then return to the guesthouse for a good night’s sleep after your journey.

2nd day

Day 2 || Konitsa - Gannadio - Pyrsogianni

After breakfast, we set off on the E-bikes to the "stone villages" and the ‘Mastorochoria’ villages area, and firstly to Molista and Gannadio, two villages perched on a forested mountainside with a special architectural beauty and impressive mansions. The ride to Molista and Gannadio is 21 km, and involves rest stops in photogenic locations of great natural beauty. We stop in the village for a short walk to admire the splendid, fortress-like architecture of the houses and the numerous fresh springs. After enjoying a coffee and snack in the village square we set out for Pyrsogianni, one of the most important villages in the region of Konitsa. To appreciate why Pyrsogianni is the true home of the region’s famous stone masons, we need only walk along the village’s picturesque cobbled streets, admiring the large stone houses with their ornate outer gates and stone-built springs. We will rest and have lunch in a village taverna. Then we get on our bikes again for the 26 km ride back to our guesthouse in Konitsa. In the afternoon there will be time for a stroll around the small town. After a full day, we will have deserved our dinner of traditional food and drink in the guesthouse restaurant.

3nd day

Day 3 || Konitsa - Aoos Gorge - Stomio Monastery

The third and final day is a hike along the gorge of the Aoos River. After breakfast, we set out on the path towards the Stomio Monastery. The route takes about 70 minutes, through an enchanting landscape finishing at the breathtaking position of the monastery. At our destination we will relax over a coffee or tea, have a tour of the monastery and visit the small room where the famous monk St. Paisios lived for four years. After 5 km of our downhill return journey, we will stop for a dip in the waters of the Aoos river. Then, after just a few more minutes of walking, we arrive back at our cars. We say goodbye having had a real taste of the natural beauties of Konitsa.
