1st day

Day 1 || Tsepelovo

The first day finds us in the village of Tsepelovo, which was once the administrative centre of Zagori. Having settled into our hotel, we will walk to the beautiful village square to enjoy a coffee or tea. Then we will stroll through the pretty, cobbled streets of the village and visit the church of Saint Nicholas, with its unique frescoes. We will have dinner in a traditional village taverna, where – among other things – we will enjoy the famous, homemade pies and drink local wine or tsipouro.

2nd day

Day 2 || Tsepelovo - Skamneli - Gyftokampos - Iliochori - Balta di Stringa Waterfalls

After breakfast at the hotel, your guide will be ready to assist you with the E-bikes. Our destination today is the village of Iliochori, an easy and beautiful route with no traffic at all. After the first 4 km we come to the village of Skamneli, which we will explore briefly on foot before returning to the bikes for a relatively easy 10 km to the ‘Giftokampos’. Here we visit  a unique, open-air museum of the Sarakatsani shepherds, including reproductions of the thatched huts and other objects of their now-lost nomadic way of life. We will stop here for a picnic in the lush landscape, among pines and fir trees. We then get back on our bikes for an easy 7-km ride to the village of Iliochori. We leave our bikes in the village and walk 1 km downhill to a hidden paradise of waterfalls, where in the summer you will not be able to resist diving into the cool, blue water. We will have a shot of local tsipouro or a local liqueur as we admire this beautiful natural creation. Then we walk back to the bikes before returning to Tsepelovo. Of course, our day would not be complete without a fabulous dinner of local food, and even some music.

3nd day

Day 3 || Tsepelovo - Kapesovo - Vradeto Stairs - Vradeto - Beloi

After breakfast we begin the day on our E-bikes again, with an easy ride through the natural landscape, heading for the village of Vradeto. After 6 km we reach the village of Kapesovo. Here we leave the bikes and walk the famous rock-cut ‘Vradeto Stairs’, which were the only way of accessing the village until 1974! We arrive at the village after an hour and a half’s walk. For those who wish, there is an optional 2.5 km walk beyond the village to the ‘Beloi’ lookout point, where you will be rewarded with one of the most stunning views of the Vikos Gorge. It is undeniably majestic and awe-inspiring: the gorge lies right in front of you, with sheer vertical cliffs hundreds of metres high on both sides. In Vradeto we will enjoy the local restaurants’ finest food and drink in the square under a plane tree. Then we return to our bikes for the journey back to Tsepelovo – a predominantly downhill, 14 km ride with breathtaking views. At Tsepelovo our trip ends with the best impressions of the Central Zagori!
